Tom Quigley’s 1932 Studebaker Rockne is so important to his family that the oldest grandchild is named after the sleek, red classic car. “It’s awesome,” says 10-yearold Rockne as he leans next to the car’s registration plate, which bears his name in all upper-case letters: “ROCKNE.”
Quigley has owned the vintage car for six years, but it’s been in his family since 1938. On July 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., he’ll have a chance to show it off to area residents at the Lakes Region Rotary Charity Car Show at Weirs Beach, which benefits area nonprofits that provide food, shelter, clothing and other services to families in need.
